The first east Africa electricity exhibition opens

The first east Africa electricity exhibition organized by East Africa International Electricity Promotion (EAIEP) opened at Addis Ababa exhibition centre on Wednesday Jan. 20 under the theme ’save the power and create awareness’. 35 companies exhibited their goods and services at the event that ranged form production to supplying electrical equipment .
Alemayehu Tegenu Ministry of Mine and Energy said at opening ceremony :” The electricity exhibition provides a good opportunity to promote the country’s potential in electric, power and energy. “
According to the minister, the private sector should in particular play a leading role in today’s market oriented economy.
“the government of Ethiopia offers various incentives to encourage the sector with the view of boosting investment and poverty reduction, the federal government and ministry of mines and energy are making maximum efferent to increase the country power sector infrastructure and other energy resource, which increase significantly in the past few years”, said Minister Alemayehu.
Mr. Abdulfetah Ali. CEO of EAIEP for his part said ;” the exhibition aims to create an inspiring vision in the electricity society that will help to create a common ground towards saving the power and discouraging sub-standard materials.
According to EAIEP; the demand of power is alarmingly growing internationally and the leading power source in the world is hydro power. And said that the exhibition is an opportunity to see actual electrical practices and power saving products from the very people who supply them.
